From understanding lighting and composition to knowing what gear to pack, you’ll learn practical techniques to help you make the most of your travel photography—no matter where your adventures take you.

What You’ll Learn

• Fundamentals of photography, light, and semi-automatic camera modes
• Capturing landscapes, culture, and wildlife in the best light
• Best times of day for strong travel images
• Composition techniques for storytelling
• Essential travel photography gear and packing tips
• Additional tips to prepare for photographing on the go

The final 45 minutes of the workshop will take place outdoors, where you’ll put your learning into practice:

  • Edmonton: Walking exploration in the downtown area

  • Calgary: Short drive to a nearby location (own transportation required)
