Learn the Fundamentals of how to Produce Flattering Lighting with your Speedlight!

Understanding how to use both available light and flash in your photography will make you a more rounded, versatile photographer. In this Level 1 class, you will learn the fundamentals of your using a single speedlight mounted on and off-camera to achieve beautiful, flattering lighting on your subjects.

This class is heavy on the fundamentals where we will spend the majority of time discussing the different speedlight modes and break down the functions and how to use them. A speedlight is a small strobe, so you will learn how to use this powerful tool to compliment your photography.

What is Covered in Using Your Flash:
  • Understanding ambient light and flash.
  • Functions of your speedlight.
  • TTL/ ETTL Mode.
  • Manual Flash Mode.
  • Sync Modes.
  • Directional light.
  • Bounce & Fill – Flash.
  • Creative Lighting techniques.
  • Modifiers & Gels.

What you will need to bring:
  • DSLR / Mirrorless camera.
  • Speedlight.
  • Note Taking Supplies.

When you have finished this class, you will know the fundementals of your flash and how you can produce beautifully lit images that are sharper and have more depth using one speedlight (flash).

COURSE REQUIREMENT: You will need to bring your own DSLR/Mirrorless camera and a Flash/Speedlight that can be mounted on or off camera with you to practice with for the class.
